Barcrest Games
Barcrest Company Profile
Barcrest Games Machines
Barcrest encapsulates five fruit machine manufacturers, Impulse, Red, Extreme, Maygay, and Vivid. These have all been taken under the great Barcrest umbrella over the years. Barcrest themselves are owned by American giants IGT.
Although many of the games are released with the Barcrest badge, they do occasionally rebrand with machines from Red Gaming, Extreme, and very rarely Vivid. Maygay is now a relic, with Barcrest holding on to the name only.
The company themselves were originally formed a little over 40 years ago, and are now the forward thinkers of the video gaming industry. They have dominated the £500 jackpot market with massively popular brands such as Rainbow Riches and Cashino. Companies such as Astra and Project have been almost drowning in their wake, trying to keep up with their sales and ideas.
Unlike Astra and especially Project, Barcrest machines look playable, they have nice crisp, bold graphics, smooth playability and features that can vary the amount they pay. They use player feedback regularly and make alterations to adjust and fine tune their games to aim for ultimate player satisfaction.
Although they have the support and ideas of IGT who dominate the American gaming industry, the ideas they use aren't so advanced that the others should be left as far behind as they have been.
Barcrest are the innovators of the current gaming climate and should remain as such for the foreseeable future.

Barcrest is now owned by Scientific Games, which continues to use the iconic brand for both live and online slots. This company was once the single biggest slot games maker in the UK. During the 1970’s through to the 1990’s it was difficult to walk into a pub in the UK without finding slots and other gaming machines supplied by Barcrest.
Formed in Ashton Under Lyme back in 1968. Along the way they went from 3 reel slots (fruit machines) through to the early 5 reel video slot games. Many of the best known games like Rainbow Riches, Monty’s Millions and later Ooh Aah Dracula came from Barcrest. They were bought out by IGT in 1998. This company kept their brand name, and eventually made the more modern titles available to an online audience. The later sale to Scientific Games in 2011 again saw the name and development centre being kept.
